Lin-sanity

Right now Jeremy Lin is the biggest story in the NBA. Jeremy Lin, point guard for the New York Knicks, has burst on the NBA scene and become one of the most popular players in the game right now. Jeremy Lin has led the Knicks to 7 straight wins averaging 25 points and 9 assists, in those 7 games. This is amazing considering that at the start of the season Jeremy Lin was the fourth string point guard who came into the league as an undrafted free agent. No one had heard of Jeremy Lin at the start of the season but 3 games ago Lin performed on the biggest stage in the NBA, Madison Square Garden, putting up 38 points and 7 assists against Kobe Bryant and the Los Angles Lakers. Not only has he out played one of the greatest players of all time, Kobe Bryant, he has proven he can finish and win games. Last week at the Air Canada center Lin proved that he is the really deal, when he hit a game winning three pointer against the Raptors with 0.5 seconds left on the clock. That’s two games in a row the raptors have lost on the last shot of the game AGGGHHH! Even though I’m glad to see Jeremy Lin to be successful but why did it have to be on the raptors.

Jeremy Lin is a true underdog story: he is the only Harvard grad playing in the NBA, only American born player of Taiwanese or Chinese descent and was an undrafted player. He is the most popular player in the NBA right now because everyone wants him to succeed and he has taken advantage of the opportunity he was given. This Lin-sanity may be short lived but we’ll all have to wait a see if Lin can keep this up.
